Where do video game cases go?

Published by seanryan at 6:33 pm under video games Edit This

I’ve noticed as I visit game shop after game shop that most pre-owned games that I see on the shelves don’t have their original cases. Why is that? What are people doing with their game cases?

I’ve seen some people keep their video game discs and cartridges in travel wallets. Not just for travel; to keep their game in one collected place. But they still kept their case around for storage. Cuz who would throw away a perfectly good case?

You could assume that they lose the cases at some point, but it seems to me to be something that’s difficult to lose. A DVD-sized (or even ones for PSP and DS) are about the size of a small book.

The best explanation is that most of the pre-owned games you see at GameStop were stolen.
